Received the product seven days as promised. No problem with assembly. One problem; sound lags picture as many reviewed prior. Called customer services within 24 hours of receipt and promised service between 8:00 and 12:00, noon tomorrow. Very happy with the service thus far. It was indicated that I should have an update applied tomorrow that should correct the audio/vidio problem. This is the reason for the 4 1/2 construction quality.

I love the picture and build quality but have to agree with the other review that the glass front makes this TV too reflective - everything is there! The product shots really don't give you a good impression of this. So, this TV would work best in a media room where you can really cut out unwanted light. My plan is to fix with really light frosting film - if I can find something appropriate will post a follow up.

HD content looks fantastic. Blacks are very black.

I had lip sync issues initially with my Charter Motorola cable box but setting it to 1080i (instead of 720p) has fixed this.

Only audio output is optical. HDMI audio is switched to the optical output - so greatly reduces the number of cables you need.

LG need to post the manual on their web site.

This TV has a super clear picture with blueray and good with reg dvd, I was watching Terminator Salvation and the picture was the best ive seen ever better with trumotion on low, some reason with Terminator on blueray the tru motion was really good other movies it might look unnatural. 240hz for under a $1000, great deal. At first the trumotion was kinda weird looking once you get use to it, it looks great especially with gaming with xbox360 the graphics look more smooth like gaming with a hi end gamer computer. The blacks are excellent and it does make a difference cause dark blacks makes your picture look more clear and crisp, picture is bright so much better than my samsung DLP and sony xbr 6 new tech way better. If anyone has ever had the problem with older lcds that when you play games the picture is very dim and you have to turn up the brightness the LGsl80 has no problem hooked it up and good to go. People always complain about the sound being horrible but to me the sound is great for speaker that are small and not even half way the volume is loud enough full volume would be too loud. Of corse your not going to get surround sound with bass. About the lip sync problem none maybe you need HDMI 1.3 not sure though but i have no problems at all. Also the TV is super thin.

My first impressions...

For the past 2 months I've been researching and looking for a 40-42", and there were products from Sony, Samsung and Panasonic that were solid options. I was all set for a Panasonic plasma but passed by the 42SL90 LED/LCD on my way to the salesguy. I pulled up short and stared... and stared... and stared. That SL90 is a great looking TV but was priced above my budget. Salesguy suggested I take a peek at the SL80... I was still wowed! Spent an hour Saturday night comparing this set to 3 others watching HD on CBS and tweaking the screens. I needed to do some more research before making a decision.

Didn't find a lot online about the SL80, so went back on Sunday for another hour looking at the NFL pregame show, and some of the game, on broadcast HD. This time the Panasonic plasma and the SL80 were the finalists. Both screens had excellent picture quality, but it seems I'm an LCD kind of guy; I prefer my screens on the bright side. So I got the 42SL80.

At home, the picture quality was simply outstanding, the sound is more than adequate, and Comcast HD never looked so clean. Standard definition receives a thumbs up as well. Connecting my portable hard drive to the USB port on the TV, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could play my DVDs I had copied on to the drive. Not just pictures and music, but movies as well! A big plus in my book. Last night I viewed files from a TS folder, and will try other formats tonight.

Alas, it's not all smiles and sunshine... a lip sync issue emerged later on at night. The sound seemed to lag behind the video. This issue was also reported with their LH90 sets when viewing content through a set top box, and a firmware fix was quickly issued. I sent an email to LG Support and I'm counting the days until a response and fix. If not addressed soon.. that Panasonic will start looking mighty good once more. I'll be connecting my PS3 tonight to view bluray; hopefully the lip sync issue won't appear there as well.

If not for that... I would have rated the SL80 5 stars, but since lip sync can render programming and movies unwatchable, it's a substantial flaw until fixed.

This tv looks realy good, it has great picture quality, and it is very easy to use. the thing that I didn't like, are that it doesn't has an regular audio output, it only has an a rare audio output that I had never seen before, and don't know how to use it. and that the frame look diferent in real life, than in the pictures. but every thing alse it is great tv for the money.

Thia tv is great. the sound and video blow me away, and i am so happy with this tv cause its a huge step up from my old 20" SDTV. But the 2 things i dont like is first the setup is diffucult cause the holes are to small for the screw. the other thing i dont like is a high pithced buzzing in the backround, but i can just urn up the volume and in drowns it out. Overall i am happy with my tv and for those of you wondering there is no differance between this tv and the 26lg30 exept for the fact that this is cheaper.

"Very bad service from LG" 2009-02-13

I recieved the 60 inch plasma TV and it worked for 3 days. Then a large black rectangle appeared in the top of the display. I worked with LG customer service back and forth for 7 weeks. 2 Technicians have been out to try to replace the TV, but to no avail. I have spoken on the phone with them many times and they create a new story every time. The TV remains broken.

We had been looking at many plasma and lcd flat screens and even tossed around a large screen dlp. We have a 52 inch lcd Toshiba that is in a family room and wanted a larger screen in what we call our gathering room off of the kitchen.After going around to many electronic stores we went with the LG60PG60.Being able to view the many flat screens together it was obvious. For the money and picture quality it was LG.

We also went with a Samsung surround sound system ,Sony Blue Ray and a APC H15 line conditioner and surge protector. And you have to hang it on the wall,looks fantastic !

I was unimpressed by looking at this tv hanging on the wall in the store with all the others. But it's black shiny look is very impressive at home. The picture quality is excellent and the colors are true. The 720p specification seemed disappointing but the actual picture was second to none. The sound quality of this flat screen is excellent. I hooked up a sound system only for movies on my DVD player. I wish these tv's would have an analog output for sound. Most flat screens have optical outputs. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone on a budget who wants an excellent tv without the high price tag. I paid only $629 for this great plasma.

Nice picture (not HD). The menus are rather limited, and the remote is very basic and feels cheaply made.

After a while, I decided to hang the set on a wall. It was a big hassle to remove the base, but then it was easy to mount to a wall bracket.

Very good TV, just enough for my girl's room. To my perception the colors and image sharpness are amazing. I mounted this TV on an articulated wall mount and the combination is perfect for saving space. I did not give 5 stars because of the remote control, although it works ok the buttons are really small and overall it looks like a "piñata" article. But the TV is good for the price.

I'm extremely disappointed in this product, the company, and "service". Within 1 month of receiving the TV, the picture went bad. It had the appearance of looking at a negative in color. I called the company who seemed less than interested in helping resolve the problem. The best they could do is send me to an authorized service . Closest one is 60 miles from my house. They never offered to send me a new one and let me return the old one. So, I take it to the ASC. More than 2 weeks later, I'm told the panel is bad and they'll have to send it to the Funai Corporation and its going to take a month or more to get a new one back. Now I've been out a television for over 2 months, and it was "Brand New".

I will never buy Sylvania again and thought it important to let others be aware of their sloppy product and inefficient warranty terms.

I compared this one carefully last year to Samsung models of similar size and the picture and viewing-ease on this one won every time. Truly a gorgeous picture with HD signals. Decent on non-HD.

I have this one wall mounted a little to the right of my wall mounted computer LCD and the viewing angle is perfect. I have a little pair of Logitech X-140 speakers plugged into the headphone jack on back and the sound is absolutely awesome. Inexpensive Sony progressive DVD also hooked up and with component hookup to TV the DVD picture is breathtaking.

For the money, I couldn't have done better than this little 20" LG as the of my office television viewing. I'm glad I took time to compare models and that the Samsungs gave me eyestrain right off the bat. That sealed the deal. I can watch my LG 20LS7D for hours with no eyestrain.

I agree with the folks who say the speakers on this TV are lacking, however the TV comes with an audio jack built in the back so you can add headphones or external speakers. The picture on this is great for a 20 inch. It looks great and functions well.

We bought this tv about a month ago and although I do agree with other reviews about the angle. I solved that problem by using this as a monitor and now it sits on my desk with perfect viewing while laying down. The picture is amazing!

I received my Hd Tv on time and in good condition. The picture quality of this tv is great but the sound quality is not so great. In the tv instruction booklet it says that you can switch the tv sound quality from mono to stereo, but so far all I can get is mono. The sound quality is passable, but if you want better buy speakers for this tv or buy another tv. I am not giving this tv 5 stars because of the sound quality.

I searched high and low for a 40 to 42in TV and this was the best deal on the market. I was being told by salesmen (and reviews) that Samsungs had the best picture and I found them to look pretty good as well. But for the price range I was in ($1000) I was not finding the specs I wanted. (120Hz, 42in, 1080p, auto light adjust, swivel base) As a matter of fact, it was very hard to find a reputable TV maker with a 120Hz 42 in that price point. Then I stumbled across the 42LGX. I thought the TV was stunning looking with the scarlet red on the back, the chrome colored base and the clear, see-through power circle. It had all those specs and the picture was absolutely stunning! I looked at it side by side next to a comparable Samsung and the pictures were very similar. When comparing to the Samsung models in the same price, the picture was better. Samsung would only offer a 60Hz TV at that price point with a 40in screen. It just looked way smaller. The LG was a no brainer. The only thing that made the decision difficult was the 42LG70. It had the exact same specs, but it wasn't 1.8in thick. It was on clearance as a display model for $850 and the LGX was brand new for $999. The Samsung closest in price and features was about $1300. I ended up buying at Fryes Electronics with a 5 year warranty and I'm very happy with the deal.

I use the TV with my computer (I disconnected my cable TV) to watch movies and TV shows over the internet and it works great. I use Windows Media Center and I have no problem getting full and wide screen shows in high def. I also use a video capture card that gives me all the features of a HD DVR. I get HD over the air and it looks way better than cable or satellite on this TV. The TV works very well as a second monitor with the DVI connection. You cannot tell if you're watching TV piped from the computer or directly on the TV - it looks that good. Also, when people see it, they can't believe I don't have cable.

I would highly recommend this TV to anyone. Easy to set up - I didn't even make any changes to the color settings at all. Right out the box, it looked great. And the menus and just so simple. It's fairly light, connections are easy to make, it's just a great looking TV. If you can find it on sale, buy it! You won't be sorry.

"LED backlit TV may cause eye damage." 2009-12-29

LED-backlit TV causes permanent eye damage... could this be true. The screen is way too bright to watch it without covering one's eyes when it brightens. I now turned the LED lights completely off and the TV picture is dark and ugly, but this is the only way I can watch it now. If I leave brightness at mere 25% it's still too bright.

As we know it is dangerous to look at LED lights for longer than 90 seconds. Yet LG made a TV with thousands of LED lights directed right at the viewer. Every LED light fixture has a WARNING to not look directly into the LED lights yet LG has made a TV set with the entire screen full of LED lights (emitting white light with enough blue light to impair or damage one's vision) and no warning about any impact of LED lights to your vision. How can that be safe?

Like the picture and colors are great, particularly when watching blu-ray content.

The TruMotion technology leavs a bit to be desired and sometimes background gets distorted around motion edges (have not compared with other 240 Hz TVs).

Overall, a good buy for the price.

We bought this TV as our entry into the world of HDTV. It was easy to install and set up. The picture quality is very good but the screen brightness leaves something to be desired. I've tried a number of things to brighten the picture to no avail. Understand it is not dim, just doesn't have the dynamic range of brightness I expected from an LED TV. (Keeps me from giving it 5 stars.) Internal speakers are not very good. I fed the audio to my Sony surround sound receiver with excellent results. TV has a Kensington lock slot with which I have it secured. It also has a hole in the TV base with which to tie it to the table. While this is touted in the manual as an anti-tipping feature, I replaced the supplied screw with a 3" long screw into a support web of the entertainment as an added anti-theft feature. On screen menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. Picture characteristics can be customized extensively although I enjoy the presets. Nice TV at a nice price.

This is an excellent way to mount a flat screen under the kitchen cabinet.

A 19 inch flatsceen takes up less space than a 13 inch sitting on the counter.

The ability to fold it up will come in handy.

Being able to pivot the tv is great.

I'm glad that I went with a 19 inch tv.

15 inchers just dont have the picture quality.

19 inchers are more competitively priced with more models to choose from.

I purchased this item to mount an LCD TV under the kitcken counter -replacing an old and heavy CRT TV. The unit is solidly built. I also recommend using through hole screws to mount to underside of cabinet as just a couple wood screws are eventually going to give out. The unit can be rotated very easily about the central arm. The unit can also be tilted-but only about the slotted axis-which is set only by how you orient and mount the slot to the underside of the cabinet. It would have been more convenient to allow some tilt where the back of the TV is mounted. This is particulary true of LCD TV's - since you have to get the tilt correct to get the best view from the TV. Once you have the orientation like you want you have to adjust the tension using an allen wrench in irder to truely lock in place. This is a bit of trial and error-and if you ever want to fold it up out of the way-since enough tension to lock in place is usually too much to allow it to fold up out of the way. Considering some of the LCD TV mounts I saw at the box stores this is a bargain. If you are considering getting a small LCD TV to use with this mount make sure the TV has the standard VESA 4 screw hole pattern. Not all of the small sets have this feature.

I needed a mount for my RV that would mount under the cabinet and not against the wall.... After going thru numerous forums to see what most where using this mount came out most. I like the way the mount plate to the tv has the little keyhole notches and can slip the tv out of the mount very easily if wanted.... tv will tuck up under counter and you can adjust the tension to what you want but most have put a little bungee strap under the tv to hold it in place while traveling with the rv...... You won't need to do this if it's for home use. Overall very satisfied with the quality and i would buy it again if needed.

"This Newer Mount Worked Great" 2009-12-14

Cheetah replaced the original mount I ordered (APDAM2B) with this new improved version. Here's my story and review which I posted on the original purchase...

I ordered this mount for a summer home we are remodeling. When it arrived I noticed right away that the TV mounting bracket was not square with the wall bracket. Since I had read that other purchasers had this same problem I called Cheetah to discuss the issue and to make certain they would refund my money if the mount did not perform properly once it was installed to compensate for the out-of-level condition. I also wanted assurances that they would extend their warranty since my contractor was 4 weeks behind and we would not be installing the TV right away.

I was dealing with Adam in their customer service department. Adam could tell that I was apprehensive about the manufacturing flaw in the mount. He quickly informed me that they had a newer generation of the mount that allowed for rotational adjustment of the TV mounting plate and strongly suggested that I exchange the mount for the newer version. I agreed, he sent me a return label and in two days I had the new mount.

The new mount is very similar to the first one - a little lighter, has a built in level plus a separate level and includes every possible piece of hardware for attaching the mount to a wall with 16" studs. I believe the quality to be first rate.

Last week I installed the mount and hung my 42" Vizio LCD TV. It worked perfectly. When I first looked at the mount I thought it might be overkill for my 37 lb. TV, but when you get the TV 20 inches or more from the wall you really need the strength to keep everything steady and sturdy. I would not recommend skimping on size.

Cheetah has surpassed my expectations - especially when you consider the mount was $200 less than Sanus and Omni. I highly recommend this company and in particular their Customer Service person Adam.

I bought this screen before the LCD prices went down, so I paid about $700. I use it as my computer monitor and it is very sharp and precise with small text. The only minor issue I have with it is sometimes it can display irregularities with contrast (hard to explain, but if you're not up close to it you will never notice). I've seen much lower prices for other LCD displays bigger than this one, so you're probably better off heading elsewhere.

I bought this mount based on the positive reviews that were on here. I'm glad I listened to everybody reviewing this mount! This is a great mount, that fit perfectly on my 32" Vizio. It comes will all the necessary bolts/washers you need for various wall types and various TVs. the included instructions are straightforward and easy to understand. It took me about 30 minutes to install the mount on the wall and the brackets on the t.v.

The wall mount is about 20 to 21 inches wide, so IT WILL fit between two standard 16" wide wall studs...The mount i received has a nice black finish and it is heavy duty.

Also, there is about a 2 1/2 inch leeway to the sides. For example, I moved my Vizio all the way to the left side of the mount as far as it can go. Once in that position, I can move the t.v. 2 1/2 inches to the right. So, if you were to the t.v. on the mount, you would have about an 1" or 1 1/4 inches to move each side. This was perfect for me, because i didnt want to see so the mount sticking out behind my t.v. Also, the tilt on this is easy to use and works well.

YOU cannot tell the difference between this mount and a $100/150 mount!! I know this because my brother bought a $125 mount for his Vizio, and they look the same!! I'm definitely glad i went with this product.

I also took one of the reviewers advice and purchased it through ERSE, who is listed under the MORE BUYING CHOICES. After shipping, i paid $42.00 total!!!! And ERSE shipped out the next day, so i got my mount fairly quickly!!!

I like laughing at friends who said they got a good deal for $125. This one works great. I have removed my 37" INSIGNIA TV many time to run different componet wires behind the TV and through the wall. This bracket stays strong and is what I expect to pay for a hidden piece of metal mounting equipment.

I bought this wall mount because it claims to fit most 20"-40" tv's, but the bracket is not long enough for my new Vizio 37" LCD. Compare the length of the bracket you intend to buy with the distance between the mounting screws on the back of your tv before buying. Should be at least a few inches longer for correct fit. Otherwise, this product seems to be well made.

The external appearance of the 47SL80 is simple yet very nice to look at, the base and swizel is very solid and heavy, not cheap and plastic like most tvs, and the picture is beautiful. I use an external sound system so I can't comment on the sound. I didn't like the Trumotion but from all the TVs I've seen with 120hz and 240hz, they all seem to make the picture look unnatural to me. The big thing I disliked about this TV and the reason I'm returning it is the screen is too reflective, it's like a black mirror. If the screen is black I can actually see my lazy self on the screen, something which is probably good for me because it might get me in the gym but something I definitely don't like to look at. So my advice is if you're in shape and nice to look at get this TV otherwise look for a matte type screen. And if you're use to reflective screens like the ones on the plasmas this probably isn't more reflective then those, just something I'm not use to and don't like.

I received the TV on the date promised by Amazon. Upon inspection, after installing the stand, I noticed a small nick in the glass in the upper right corner. I called Amazon and the guy that took my call was very pleasant and helpfull. Rather than send it back, I was able to get a partial credit applied to my account.

The quality and performance of this LG is truly amazing. I researched many brands and found this TV to be far superior in picture and sound. My first inclination was to purchase from a local independant electronics store, but they could not meet the price or the 12 month financing Amazon offered. Even my wife is impressed.

Great TV for the price. Only problems I have encountered are that glare is an issue because of the glass front instead of the matte finish on most LCDs. Also, the TrueMotion 240Hz feature makes most shows look like soap operas. It looks great for sports and can be turned off easily for non-sports. I bought this TV to replace another LCD that had the screen broken my a mystery impact (nobody knows anything about it). I don't know if the glass front makes it any more or less durable, but I've had it for 3 weeks now with no cracks yet.

I ordered the LCD TV from Amazon/Tiger Direct. Tiger Direct was not able to deliever the TV on time so the order was cancelled. Tiger Direct refunded the price of the TV, but failed to return shipping/handling charges and also kept the taxes charged for the TV. This was in Dec/Jan and here it is April and my money has not been returned. I am now not going to order from Amazon again.

We purchased this tv to go into our loft. I researched all the brands from toshiba, vizio, samsung etc. When I found this tv for $999 and read the reviews and specs I knew this was the one. Crystal clear picture with HD. The 120HZ has been great watching football. I can't stand watching the older tubed 32" samsung downstairs anymore. It does not even compare. I would recommend this tv at the $999.00 price. We are very happy with our purchase.

UPDATE: It's Feb. 16th, 2009 and I'm still loving my LG. Purchased it around June of 2008. No problems at all. Picture is still as awesome as the day I took it out of the box.

I have owned the LG42LBX 42" LCD TV for about 6 months now. It is one of the best items I have ever purchased. I own 3 LCD TV's which are all great but the LG stands above them all. For starters, I purchased for only $1,100. I was looking at a Sony 37" LCD that was about $400-500 more than the LG and the Sony was only 60HZ. I watch alot of sports so I really wanted the 120HZ so I didn't have to watch choppy motion. I didn't want to get a plasma tv because I HATE how glossy the screens are. The LCD's screens are matte black with no sheen and hence no glare. A few weeks after I bought this TV I set up one of my 720P 32" LCD TV's next to the LG during a Saturday night of College Football (so we could watch two games simultaneously) and the 60HZ TV had a definite motion blur, the LG with it's 120Hz, as I had hoped, had none. For the money this has to be the best TV you could possibly find anywhere. Also, FYI the only major technical difference between the 2007 42LBX "Opus" and the new 2008 model 42LG60 "Scarlet" is there is one extra side HDMI slot and the contrast ratio is higher (50,000:1).

PROS: 120HZ means no motion blur, great/classy piano black finish but no glossy screen, awesome picture, great menu controls, WAY LOWER PRICE THAN OTHER 120hz LCD TV's.

CONS: Speakers aren't very loud and don't put out the greatest sound either. No picture in picture.

This TV from LG is an unbelievable deal. I have had it for 2 months now. For $1099, this TV packs an incredible punch. Even though technology for these TVs is always improving, I don't think there is much more room for improvement. It is 2007 model, but still has mostly all the bells and whistles that the new Scarlet line has. I have a PS3 and have watched blue-ray movies, played online games, and watched up-converted DVDs. All are spectacular. The 1080p with 120Hz processing does an incredible job. If you are looking for an all around top performer without the high-end price tag, this TV is for you.

We recently bought this tv from Best Buy. We shopped for quite a while, atleast 3 months, looking for the best fit for our family. We are upgrading from a 32" tube tv, so really, anything would've been better than what we had. But we knew, despite what the sales people often told us, that LG is a FANTASTIC brand. We lived in Germany for a few years, and there LG is THE BRAND. Not Sony, samsung, yada yada yada. So when we stumbled onto it at Sears for only 1099.99, we knew we had an OUTSTANDING deal. We've been watching the tv now for a few days and EXTREMELY enjoy it! Especially when we bought it for such a good price. Very happy with this buy. This VESA 800 mount was half the price or less of comparable mounts, and it came with an assortment of screws that would fit various TV models. It fit my LG set perfectly. Installation is a 2-person job. I also have metal studs behind my drywall, but mounting this was no problem using heavy duty toggle bolts.

This is a great tv, One of LG's top of the line models. Bought at A local CC thats was going out of business and only payed $1200 out the door price!! I have owned it for about a month and the picture is better then my brothers samsung that he payed twice as much for!! Amazing sharp images and good color balance along with rich deep blacks and amazing sound you cant go wrong!

"Great first time LCD" 2008-04-21

Finally time to upgrade from the portable black & white. Had a little Christmas money & started shopping around. First was looking at the larger sized Olivia's at Target & Kmart. They seemed like quite the realestate for the $. Checked around & after listening to some of the online horror stories on returns, I got a little spooked. After a lot more review reading online, everything seemed to point to Samsung & Toshiba. Started checking them out at Circuit City & they looked fine, but the picture of the LG seemed to really pop, compaired to the other two. Had not planned at all on LG, but was really taken by the side by side picture comparison. Didn't seem like it mattered which size you were looking at, LG seemed a little better. Hemmed & hawed for a couple of days & thought I'd go see what Best Buy had to offer. Wasn't all that up on Best Buy & really wanted to give C.C. the business, but Best Buy had a reboxed unit for a really great price. Again, tried to be very subjective on the picture quality as they had all three brands & darn-it, no matter what size you looked at, from the big 40somethings on down, LG seemed to have a picture that was more alive.

I really wanted to get a bigger screen, & after watching the Super Bowl on it, it's not the best for watching sports on - size wise - but I felt quite good with myself for not having to put anything on the credit card. Paid off is a much better feeling.

So, it's been several months now, have pretty well mastered the set & am still quite happy with the purchase. It's a really great looking set, you can get some pretty impressive sound out of the stock speakers, you can see it from some extreem side angles - happy all around.

Lot's of inputs, but have only used the DVD & VHS hookups so far. I'd definitatly recommend this little LG. - As a side note, just got back from a hotel in Colorado Springs that had LG 42"ers in the rooms. The maintenace guys told me that the ones they got had issues with high elevation. Might want to check into that, if applicable.

"Not too bad,but..." 2007-12-23

Well, we picked the TV up at a special sale at BrandSmart a few days ago, and at first it seemed like a great bargain. But here are the few things we didn't like about it: when I connected HDMI DVD/5.1 surround sound system to it, I found out that it loses the signal every time you have to pause the movie for whatever reason. Going back to unpausing it didn't work always- it would lose the signal and just the sound would come on, then I would have to shut it down and start it again, and sometimes that didn't help neither. Very disappointed! This happened with both HDMI connectors. The other major issue we had was the TV must have a very narrow viewing angle because when we put it a little above regular viewing position (we used it in the bedroom and when you lay down you can't really position it straigh on level with your feet, it has to stay a bit higher) the clarity went out and the picture looked like an old film negative, where you see silhouettes in places where black color was involved and you'd have to stand up and have to watch it at a "straigh at your eyes" angle or the picture suffered. That was the final straw. TV went back, and for a couple of hundred dollars more, we got a Samsung, same dimentions, but the difference is just unbelievable. Same position of viewing, no picture problems at all... The price was right, but this LG leaves a lot to be desired.

"Great Picture - Highly Recommended" 2007-11-27

I went to a couple of our local big box stores and took a look at all the flat-panels of around this size as a second TV.

Pros:

This model (and several other LGs of various sizes that we saw) definately had the most pleasing 'out of the box' picture quality. Several others had less vibrant images or narrower viewing angles or both. The Sony screens had very vibrant images that were pleasing from a distance, but suffered from jagged edges due to poor anti-aliasing. The image on this screen has great color, great contrast, and excellent anti-aliasing. That means the picture is not only great in HD, but also very pleasing in standard TV resolution.

Other factors favoring this HDTV are a great build quality and a screen that does an excellent job of maintaining brightness and clarity when viewed off-angle - even off-angle high/low.

Cons:

If I have one minor issue, it's that there the aspect ratio control includes no 16:9, proportional (non-distorting) zoom. Programs are transmitted in dozens of different formats these days. It's not that unusual to find a program that matches the full screen aspect ratio, but has a significant border on all sides. We have another HD set that allows me to zoom the whole picture up without any change in aspect ratio (because changing the aspect ratio would distort the picture). This set does not offer that adjustment.

My only other minor nit-pick with this product is that we have, through our local cable company (Cablevision), a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HD cable box. Although it's a breeze to hook up to the LG, using a single HDMI cable, the remote on the cable box does not have a code to program it to control the LG brand. Although I've found alternate codes that give most of the functionality, I cannot use the mute button on the cable box remote for this set. Although this is certainly not LG's fault, it is another minor inconvenience.

Conclusion:

All things considered, we're very happy with this HD screen. The small negatives are certainly outweighed by the excellent image and build quality - the most important measures of performance.

"Quality product but be prepared to improvise" 2009-11-25

Got this for my Sony Bravia. This bracket is good quality and easy to work with.

Only problem was I coudn't use any of the hardware that came with it. The wall I was installing it on was unusual so I won't get into that.

However, I also had to scronge around for some screws to fit the back of the TV because the ones it came with were either too long or short.

That being said I think it's fine and would've given it 5 stars but not everyone likes to improvise.

"TV IS BAD; LG WILL NOT RESPOND TO PROBLEM" 2009-07-06

This TV was a gift for us in May of 2007, purchased from Magnolia Home Theater and the extended warranty was not purchased. The first problem it had required a factory modification 3 months after we received it. It stopped responding to the remote and the menus on the TV were impossible to use via the side buttons. The second problem showed up in early 2009, well beyond the 1-year warranty. It turned itself off unexpectedly. Repeatedly. The repair service was called and we spent almost $500.00 on repairs. The power supply was replaced in April, 2009. In June, 2009, it turned itself off again, unexpectedly. Of course the repair service would not back up their work. And LG refused to do anything. I am very disappointed in a company that will not replace a unit that is clearly defective in some way, warranty or not. That's bad business and bad customer relations. I will not purchase an LG product again. Purchasing an extended warranty on a new product is ludicrous, has always been ludicrous. It only adds to the up-front cost and is merely a way for the seller to add to their profit, betting that MOST of the units they sell will not have problems. I believe it is a deceptive practice. Did I have a choice and could I have purchased an extended warranty? Yes, from the seller, but not from LG. It seems that's the way companies do business these days: "just get it out the door, don't worry about customer satisfaction when something goes wrong, especially if it's only a low percentage of customers; the majority of people will never know that our products are duds and we won't do anything to fix them."

We ordered the TV via Amazon and even though shipping would have been free, I paid a little extra to have it delivered in 3 days because I feared the longer it stayed in the shipping process, the better the chances of it being damaged.

Anyway, we are very happy with the TV. The distance from which you watch it is important. The best picture is from a distance of about 15' away. Any closer, and the picture isn't as great. But it's hard to go back to regular TV once you've watched it in HD. I'm hopelessly spoiled!

The set up was EASY! I read reviews about how difficult it was to set it up, and that's bogus. It was very easy. Given, I am electronically inclined, but I think my husband could have set it up easily and he's a doof. Haha!

The sound is great too, especially for built in speakers.

I was scared to buy something this pricey online, because if something goes wrong, you're kind of screwed. But the entire process from purchase to delivery was perfect. I do recommend reading up on sellers though, before you decide to go for it. Read other customer reviews on the seller!!! I changed my mind on a seller last minute and paid a little more for the TV just because I had a bad feeling.

I have had this television for about 6 months now. I originally purchased an open box display unit that mysteriously would shut itself on and off. Once it was off it wouldn't power up for hours with the switch or remote. After thoroughly checking all the timer and alarm settings I called LG about the problem only to find that the serial number had already been registered with this complaint and scheduled for a return to the factory. Circuit City shamelessly tried to sell it instead!

Anyway I got a brand new model from CC for the same price because of their mistake. And have loved every minute of owning this unit. I immediately upgraded my digital cable to include an HD DVR and purchased a Yamaha 5.1 receiver for optimal sound. (Mostly to use with my Mac mini home theater connected with a DVI to HDMI cable and sound through a TOSlink optical cord.)

Television quality is excellent. Nice high contrast ratio. Response rate is quick for sports and F1 races (and gaming is superb in HD!) Overall I couldn't recommend this HDTV enough. LG continues to impress me with their quality and value.

Ordered this thru Amazon and it was out of stock, but stock was quickly replenished. Set up was easy. Not currently using HD feature but it is a real nice TV for the money. Only problem is the sound is kind of distorted. Am playing with the adjustments but might decide to go with external speakers if I can't get the problem resolved.

That title has two meanings. This bargain 720p HDTV can be made to display a very good picture, but not if you 'obey' Vizio's instruction manual. You will pay a big penalty if you fall for Vizio's green marketing baloney.

It appears that all TV manufacturers adjust their picture controls at the factory to make their displays stand out in a lineup on a shelf in the store. Often that creates a picture which at home is inaccurate, too bright, too contrasty, over sharpened, etc. Thus any new TV must be 'calibrated' to produce a picture that correctly reproduces the video signal it receives. Sure enough, Vizio does that with the VO320E too. But that makes it draw more current. So during the initial setup routine the manual advises you to select the "Home Mode" rather than "Retail Mode," to "give you the opportunity to save energy." It says nothing about any effect on picture quality. So, good (and penny-pinching) citizen that I am, I dutifully punched in Home Mode before proceeding, a few days later, with calibrating the set using the Digital Video Essentials (DVE) system. When I finished the picture indeed looked pretty good... at night in a very dimly lit room. But in daylight it was lousy--dim, dull, and washed out. An unpleasant surprise, since a review of inexpensive LCDs in the October, 2009 issue of Consumer Reports had graded the VO320E's picture as "excellent." By then I had forgotten about that "Home"/"Retail" toggle, which doesn't appear in the VO320E's regular picture-tuning menus. After considerable fussing with brightness, contrast, color and other controls, often in flagrant violation of what DVE advised, I was about ready to return the set--which I bought for our brightly illuminated kitchen--when I realized that, duh, a little more juice might make a difference. And it did--a big difference. But I wish that Visio would admit the dirty trick they used in order to put "ECO" in the VO320E's name.

So, set it up in the "Retail" mode and the VO320 (I presume that eliminates the "E") will indeed deliver an excellent picture. Not up to the quality of a 46" 1080p 120 or 240 Hz set, but fine for a second or third TV, and costing much less. It is light, easy to mount on a wall, and visually attractive--surprisingly unobtrusive for its size, and a thin strip of chrome along its bottom edge adds a neat touch of class. Vizio is to be commended for providing a printed 67-page manual that is all in (reasonably clear and non-geeky) English--although it does not manufacture the VO320E in the United States as another reviewer claims (at least my set says it was made in China). The 'calibration' process (Vizio calls it "fine tuning") is simple and straight forward, at least if you don't try to use DVE, and most of the controls' default settings proved to be nearly correct when checked with DVE's test patterns--I had to change "Color" from 50 to 45 to get a fair calibration using DVE's red, green and blue filters, and reduce "Sharpness" from 4 to 1 (but I subsequently decided that a tad more sharpening gave the picture a little more pizzazz, despite what DVE concluded).

I hesitate to gripe about sound quality in a TV as small and inexpensive as this, but since no other Amazon reviewer has as yet done so, here goes. Plan to hook the VO320E up to some other audio device if you possibly can (fortunately, we had an old Bose CD player on a table in the same corner of the kitchen). You can turn off the VO320E's tinny little speakers, and the "Analog Audio Out" control can be set to "Variable," allowing the TV volume and mute controls to regulate an external audio device (a convenience that my much fancier HDTV in the family room lacks). There is even an equalizer included among the audio controls--a welcome feature since the VO320E's audio amplifier distorts badly, apparently in an attempt to compensate for the shortcomings of its speakers.

For its price, this is a fine 32-inch HDTV. Were it not for Vizio's Eco-prevarication, and the tinny sound, both of which are easily overcome, I would give it five stars.

I was not sure about getting this tv since I had never heard of the brand. I got it at COSTCO for $339. We asked one of the kids working in that department if he knew anything about this brand. He had a 42 inch and said he was quite pleased with it.

The cost was fantastic of course. Plus Costco adds another year of warranty on it.

We mounted it in the bedroom and it was very easy for my husband to lift up onto the stand.

The picture is great. One of the reviews said that the logo at the bottom was annoying. I find that I don't even notice it after you get interested in your program.

It is well worth the money, even if it had been closer to $400. I would recommended this tv.

"Agree with Consumer Reports Best Buy Rating." 2009-12-01

I originally purchased a 26 Vizio VA 10T. I had some initial problems and read the warranty. On TVs less than 32 inches, Vizio requires that you ship the TV to California at your expense. I don't think so. I returned it to Walmart, and then purchased this TV at Sams. In home service on this one.

This TV has much higher quality and workmanship than the 26 inch model. Excellent PQ, VG sound, VG viewing angle, no glare. . The cable hookups go in horizontally, while the 26 inch model had vertical hookups. The vertical hookups would be fine with a wall mount, but were difficult to use on my stand.

Cons. Remote is pretty basic, and the menu is somewhat confusing. Since this is used with Direct TV, I only use the Vizio remote to change some preferences.

Addressing comments on Walmart purchases. Consider this. I initially purchased the 26 inch model. I paid a pre BF price of $ 248, reg. $ 327-348. At $ 248, my 3 year extended warranty was $ 19.99. I wasn't happy withe TV, returned it, and did not have to pay a restocking charge (hello-Best Buy). I had to open the Box, and remove the TV, to get to and read the warranty. Only then did I find out I needed to ship the TV to California, at my expense, for warranty work. Even under the Wally 3 year extended warranty, the mfg terms still applied. So for any warranty work, I needed to ship it at my expense. I think it stinks that companies don't disclose the significant terms of their warranty more prominently, prior to purchase. Their behavior sticks you with restocking fees. Love this 32 inch Vizio. Go for it.

The ceiling plate for this mount swivels a full 90 degrees. This allows you to place the plate IN your ceiling and mount it to the side of a ceiling beam. The pole then drops from the plate and passes through a 2.5" hole that is cut in the drywall of the ceiling. Ok I don't know where to start, as far as pieces go everything ever needed is included as far as mounting different Tv's. The top bracket tilts for use on a vaulted ceiling however you can't get the screw tight enough to stop the tilt, which makes the tv look like it's taking a nose dive. The joint where the bars meet the swival bar is for junk, it bends alot at this joint, and no it's not supposed to bend. It hooks to the tv wonderfully, however the tv seams a little top heavy. We have the back bracket up all the way (on our 50 inch tv) there is a tilt divice but it is NOT needed because the tv tilts/pulls away from the top of the bar. The bar is in no way straight up and down. The tv sits at a tilt of more than 15 degrees without the tilt device tilted any. The 360 degree swival works but as you turn the tv around the bar freaks out and makes you think the tv is going to hit the floor. I would not purchase this again, and now we have nothing to hang our Tv. I guess the biggest mistake in the design are the bars, there just not right. Sorry cheetah company but I just couldn't give this a good review. However if you reemburse me I'll give you as a company a good review.

This TV is a piece of junk. My in-laws bought one and have had nothing but trouble with it. First it was the blank screen issue (mentioned in another review), now its the remote issue ( [...]). All of these seem like very common problems from searching the net. All in all it seems like this TV is just poorly built.

Last May, 2006 I talked my elderly parents into buying a "new-fangled" flat screen LCD...not an easy task considering Dad's old tube TVs were still working fine after 15yrs of constant use. We went to Circuit City and decided on the LG 37"...it was the least expensive and seemed to have the best picture.

Dad didn't want to pay for an expensive CC extended warranty because we figured if something were to go wrong with the set, it would happen within a year.

We got the set home and installed...the picture was so good with just the coaxial cable connection that Dad canceled the appointment I had made with Comcast to set him up with a hi-def digital box.

Well, everything went fine until July 2007...two months after the LG warranty expired, the TV suddenly stopped responding to the remotes...not just the LG remote, but another universal remote that he had programmed as well. He eliminated all of the obvious causes...dead batteries, blocked sensors,light interference etc. He had the TV taken into be repaired. The tech, after undoing almost 100 screws to get to the circuit board, said he found and repaired a badly soldered wire (which surprised me since I figured that these circuit boards are all solid)..that was the only thing he could figure was wrong with it. The TV/remotes worked fine for about 3 weeks and now the same thing has happened again. So my 89 yr old father has to get up and go over to the TV every time he wants to adjust the volume of change channels. I call it the LG Senior Citizen Workout.

Of course the set is beyond warranty, so neither LG nor CC has any legal responsibility...except that people should know that there are serious manufacturing flaws in these products that are not easy repairable...even if the consumer is willing to pay for the repair.

Went to the store to check this one out first hand. The reasons I bought were that it had a great contrast ratio. The picture was bright and had a lot of depth to it. Also you didn't get the graininess you get in some TV's. Like when the picture is on a persons face, it doesn't look like pixels are swirling and it also doesn't look like people are made into plastic figures either. A lot of the more known TV's, Sony, etc, had both of those problems and I wondered why people were paying twice as much.... Just to say they bought a Sony?

screen went black and unit stopped working after only 5 weeks from purchase with only normal use, nothing out of ordinary. I was able to temporarily reset the tv and get it to work again by disconnecting the power for an hour, but it quickly stopped working again. almost like the whole thing just locks up. sounds like the same problem found on other other models. BEWARE.

"Black Screen of Death" 2009-11-21

I guess I'll jump on here and relay my experience of the Black Screen of Death. I've had the TV for just under three years and it gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. Like others have said, my TV began flickering at first. Then the picture would disappear for 10 minutes or so and then return. I followed all of the typical trouble shooting methods and then did an internet search to see if I was a moron. Apparently I'm not and others are experiencing the same issues. I paid over $1,000 for this TV about 4 years ago and now it's a very expensive paper weight. To make matters worse new 32" LCD tvs can be had for about $350.00 I guess this one will get tossed out because I see that people that have had their set repaired find the black screen to recur down the line.

Well Black Friday is coming up. I guess I'm getting up early. I believe I'm done with LG and Insignia (which LG makes.)

"Unbelievable" 2009-06-25

I bought this television with a year warranty. 11 months after my purchase the screen started going out at what look to be power flashes. The power in my apartment isnt the greatest do to a diy landlord, so I started re-routing the power to other circuits in my home. After the problem continued in outlets that my other electronics were on I decided to call LG. They told me I was 6 days out of warranty, but they would extend it!

Oh happy day!

After dealing with a repair man that I'm going to call a drunk for 2 months I called LG and they sent me to another service . They replaced the main board (which means they replaced everything but the speakers and the case). Everything worked out right? Not a chance. 8 months after this replacement the exact same thing started happening. The costumer service could only tell me that they could not authorize any other warranty extension. I got transferred to management who said the exact same thing. I now have a television that is unwatchable after less then 2 years. To make things worse in the middle of all of this I bought an LG cell phone that now turns off when I try to use the text keyboard. LG goodbye and good riddance.

"Black Screen of death" 2008-02-08

I like so many others have experienced the Black screen of Death on a LG 47" LCD 1080P flat screen. The TV, for no apparent reason, just goes out even though the power light still shows green. I made the unfortunate mistake of buying this TV from CompUSA (2 weeks ago) who is now out of business. I called LG and reported the problem and they gave me the number of a repair . When I asked if they have ever heard of this happening to anyone else they told me it was a "Known Issue". I just don't understand how a company can sell products with "Known issues" and then make it the consumers problem. I'm dropping my TV off tomorrow for what I am expecting to be a very long period of time. Good luck to everyone having this problem. This is probably my last LG.

P.S. I must admit though when the TV was working I was very happy with the picture and sound quality. However, the TV actually needs to be functional to give it a good rating. Without this issue it would have been a 4.5.

This is a wonderful TV. I bought it after returning 2 Westinghouse tvs for dead and stuck pixels. The tv has worked wonderfully since day one and the picture is just amazing, even better then the Westinghouse. I would have given this tv a 5 star rating but it only has 1 hdmi output, and it doesn't allow you to switch directly to a certain output....you have to go through all of them in order to get to the one you want. Other than that it's been near perfect. I have had this tv for about 3 months now and will look into getting a bigger LG for the living room.

"Broke after 40 days" 2007-01-03

While the TV was working, the picture was great. I had my media PC, HD DVR, Wii, and DVD player all hooked up to it and everything worked fine. It's a very compact design (speaker is on the bottom) so it fits great in the room I have to work with.

Sadly, about 40 days after purchase, the screen randomly went black. LG's replacement guarantee was for 30 days, and they wouldn't budge. I had to get a repairman to pick it up. I left town for the holidays and called the repair place to check on the status. They said they ordered the broken part from LG the day after they got the TV and had been waiting for it to arrive for nearly a month.

It was a nice TV.. for the short period of time that it worked. It appears I'm not alone with this problem, either. This is my last experience buying from LG, thanks to defective products and rude (though very American!) customer support.

I regret not buying a Samsung.

Recieved faster than the scheduled date from amazon which is cool. looks very nice stainless and a nice paint job. came with plenty of useless mounting hardware, i went to lowes and bought some higher quality stuff to put into the studs in my wall. it makes everything a nice distance from the wall so you can reach behind and plug things in. Its nice that you can slide your tv on the bars to get it positioned right.

It doesn't have slots for mounting to 26" studs which my old house has, i drilled my own holes in the back plate.

The tilt mechanism doesn't hold up my 55" lcd, if i cant figure out how to put nuts and bolts in where the nobs go ill just cut a short piece of wood to prop it up.

If you don't mind having to fidle with things to get them working right this mount is fine but if you want it to work as designed spend some more money on a nicer mount.

This mount is heavy , lot of steel !! very sturdy , when installed It project about 6" from wall For 39 $ it is a good deal . The lock after hanging the tv is not that great it could have been better . TV can be slided side to side but it does not allow tiltimg side by side . There is some room for up down tilting . Recommend this product to any one who looks for strong mount, needed some flexibility for horizontal positioning . Comes with many mounting screws . Make sure you install this to studs .

I used this wall mount to place my 47" Samsung over the fireplace and due to the the size/placing of the studs, there wasn't enough space to the Samsung correctly. So I purchased a wider wall mount from monoprice and got better results. I then tried to wall mount my 40" Samsung in the game room with the cheetah mount, but the mounting wholes were only 17 inches wide while the wall studs where 22 inches apart. To put it simply, always go for the widest possible mount to help with stud and ing issues. This one is much too small.

Came as promised. Built in level which is nice. Mounted quickly and securely. My only disappointment is that is it sold by Cheetah Mounts which has a good name for itself but the mount does not have anything on it to identify it as from them. Looks like anyone else's mount (it's made in china so it probably is). Amazon's price was cheaper than anywhere else I found. Their tech support answered quickly and was very friendly. All hardware included. Very nice mount, it's holding my new SONY 46" Bravia XBR.

"No picture quality issues, but slow at startup" 2009-12-01

After a good experience with my V VIZIO VO37LF - 37" LCD TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV I had no hesitation in buying another Vizio TV from Costco last week, when replacing an old second TV. I chose this model because it was being sold at a low price under an "instant rebate" offer.

After a week or so of use, I don't like it quite as much as I like my other Vizio 37" HDTV, but I'm happy with the purchase and believe I got my money's worth.

Unlike other reviewers who have posted here, I have had no problems with color or picture quality. I don't like the way the menu/setup options are displayed onscreen, which is really a minor gripe. My main issue with this TV is that it takes longer to startup when first turned on, or when I change from one input to another (TV, HDMI1, HDMI3, etc.). Although it's a matter of seconds, it is a bit longer than my other Vizio TV takes. Also, the remote control seems flimsier and cheaper than the remote for my other Vizio.

On the other hand, this TV cost at least two hundred bucks less, so I consider it a good value for the money. It's worked well with my LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player both with DVDs and Netflix movies. I just got the LG player and haven't tried any blu-ray discs yet.

I went to the Vizio website and looked up each of these TV models under the "support" tab, and printed out the tech specs for each one. They are overall quite similar, but not identical in all respects. I'm sure the discriminating videophiles who are shopping for HDTVs will be able to decide, based on the specs, if this is a TV they want to try. For this non-expert consumer, it's been a good purchase.

With respect to all who may have a finer ear for sound and eye for picture perfection, I can find no fault with anything concerning my VO1370M. For me, I fail to understand how the sound could be better or the picture more outstanding. Seriously, anyone finding fault with this set must have received a faulty one. One feature which I have not noticed being covered in the reviews is the Quickstart Guide. Geez, this is a mega-guide. It measures over 31 x 22 inches, in full color, on both sides. This guide is outstanding. It even color codes the path between each back control panel input and the corresponding remote control button, i.e., which button controls which set of plugs on the back or side panel. It pictures, in color, each of the type input plugs and shows, in color, exactly where they plug into the control panels, and prioritizes, again in color, the best, good, etc., possible connections for components. As it turned out, all I had to do was plug the set in, attach the video cable, turn the set on and let it set itself up. No modifications, tuning, etc., were necessary on my part for a perfect picture. The remote is also not only very good looking but very clear and easy to use. Perhaps I was lucky, but I have no hesitation to rate this set five stars.

"Very good TV for the price" 2009-09-12

Overall, I have had this TV for three weeks and I have very few complaints. I will say that most people complaints are valid, they just don't bother me.

Pros:

Picture quality (even if the signal isn't 720/1080)

Con:

There is a purplish tint that shows up when there are people on the screen. A slight nuisance, but it doesn't ruin the overall experience.

Highly recommended!

"You get what you pay for." 2009-08-08

I selected the Vizio V0370M because of its low energy consumption and its reasonable (low) price. I received a product with a level of quality consistent with the low price paid.

Pros: Great energy consumption at 110W. Attractive case design. Bright screen with vibrant colors. Simple, easy to use remote. Good quality picture with 1080 signal.

Cons: Takes 10 seconds to power on and become fully functional. Sound quality is mediocre. Suffers from a software/firmware issue, which manifests when using the remote's "Guide" button. Use of the "Guide" button can lock out all control from the remote, and all but the power button on the TV (which is fortunate, since the only way to clear the problem is a power cycle). Poor quality rendering of any signal that is not 1080. If using a VCR or standard definition DVD player, expect the picture to look worse than with an old 480 CRT. Skin tones are frequently purple in spite of every effort to adjust controls (including utilizing numerous default settings and custom options). Color issues are generally worse with non-1080 signal sources. No screen aspect ratio button on remote (requires that one go through menus to change setting).

Who knew trying to be "green" and save some green would require such sacrifice.

This is Angle Adjustable Wall Bracket for LCD Plasma. This Flat Wall Mount supports most 37" to 63" flat panel screen and plasma TVs up to 165 lb weight.

The slim wall plate keeps the screen close to the wall for a very discreet installation that is perfect for boardrooms, digital signage, or home theaters. The back of the display sits about 4 inches off the wall when set in parallel. The mount includes simple to align brackets and a unique wall plate that can be mounted to various wall constructions including wood studs or concrete.

Warning: This mounting bracket is not compatible with certain LG (r), PIONEER(r) and Sharp(r) brand TVs. Specifically, the following models are not compatible. Well, it was a so so TV for a year. Died on the 13th month. LG wants me to ship back the LCD to them and pay a $99 Diag. fee first. They will then tell me how much it will be to repair. Can you say.... NO WAY.

On to a TV that will last a little longer than 13 months.

"Not 16:9 Aspect; Poor & Uneven Lighting" 2008-05-09

Now, I'm not quite sure if this TV is the same one as mine, but they look the same and the size (23") is my size.

Anyway, the aspect ratio of my TV is 16:10, not 16:9 like all HD broadcasts are. This means that to not have the picture stretched vertically I have to set it to have two black bars at the top and bottom. Why a company would make anything other than a 16:9 aspect for an HDTV I will never know. Also, in low light scenes you can clearly see the places where the backlights are; they make streaks of bright across the screen. The TV also has some weird feature which turns the backlight up and down depending on what's being displayed, which can be VERY annoying.

So I'm not sure if this is the exact same TV, but just be weary if you buy this one (or any LG TV).

Learned a lesson. Could not find what I wanted locally for bedroom. Worst TV I have ever bought. Color, contrast, do not even know how to start. Never buy a TV with out viewing picture.

One pixel went out after 3 hours. I called customer service and they told me that 3 have to be out before they will consider it a warranty return. It's in the middle of the screen and very annoying.

This TV is Great! Picked it up at SAMS Club for 578.00. This thing pretty much set itself up without too many commands from me. We have basic cable with what we thought were only a few channels available but, when we plugged the Vizio in, it automatically scanned for veiwable channels and now we have about 10 more channels than we had before. If your looking for a good looking, affordable, easy to use TV, this is it! The menus are pretty easy to use and actually make sense. Also, in most menus there is a reset option in case you get lost and can't remember what you changed. We also have the Bose 321 system with HDMI (wich looks amazing) and Roku (netflix) with HDMI and pretty soon the PS3 with HDMI. It just so happens there are 3 conveniantly placed HDMI inputs on the TV. Hands down, one of the best decisions I've made in a while

I purchased this tv about two weeks ago and i love it. the backlight and brightness control are outstanding way better than other similar brands. the sound is good especially for a flat panel. the picture quality is great. the menus are not as fancy as say a sony but at this price you cant complain. this tv is also half the weight of most 32" tvs i have seen. i love it and would highly recommend purchasing. plus it is made in the USA.
